Our Privacy Promise

WOT — Wide Open Throttle — is built by riders, for riders. Your trust is the club. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we protect it, and the things we will never do.

What we collect

Only what you choose to give us when you register as a founding member:

• Your full name and optional rider nickname
• Your email address
• Optional social handles (Telegram, X, Instagram, Facebook)
• Optional details about the motorcycles you ride, own, or dream of, and your years riding
• Optionally, whether your work involves motorcycles
• Optionally, a photo or video of your bike — only if you add one

We do not collect anything you do not enter yourself. We do not buy data about you from anyone.

How we protect it

• Encrypted in transit. Everything you send travels over HTTPS/TLS.
• Encrypted at rest. Stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which encrypts data at rest with AES-256.
• Your real name stays private. It is used only for your membership record. The only name ever shown to other members or in public is the nickname you choose.
• Least access. Personal details are accessible only to the small WOT team that needs them to run the club, and access is logged.
• Data minimization. Most fields are optional. Share as little or as much as you like.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will never claim otherwise. But encryption protects your data from outsiders, and the promises below govern what we do with it.

What we will never do

• We will never sell your data — not your name, email, handles, or anything else.
• We will never share or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing.
• We will never publish your real name publicly.
• We will never post your bike photo or video to our channels without the explicit consent you give at sign-up — and always with credit to your handle.
• We will never spam you. Email is for genuine club announcements only.

Your bike photo & Instagram

If you add a photo or video of your bike, you can tick the box allowing us to feature it on our Instagram, @WideOpenThrottle, with credit to your handle. This is entirely optional. If you do not tick it, we will not post your media. You can ask us to remove featured content at any time.

Your rights

You are in control of your data. At any time you can ask us to:

• See what we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information entirely
• Withdraw consent for your bike media to be featured

Cookies & tracking

This site keeps your registration progress in your own browser's local storage so you do not lose your answers. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this page.

Terms of Use

By registering, you confirm the information you provide is your own and accurate, that any photo or video you upload is yours to share, and that founding membership and its benefits are offered at WOT's discretion and may evolve as the club grows. Use the site lawfully and respect fellow riders. These terms may be updated; material changes will be announced to members.
